Seek Compact XR & Snapdragon

# #

Seek thermal camera (Compact XR) is still wonderful with 206x156 IR resolution which enables for human to see invisible heat energy traces (does not work for figurative heat like warm talks of women). To the main topic.. Camera has one majour fault which happens on Snapdragon chipset devices where i noticed it sadly when i upgraded from Motorola to Samsung S21 FE. Wont want play together nicely. This is not the only case as Flir has similar case compatibility information. In example when you attach camera to phone nothing will happen if you dont first attach camera temporarily to example USB charger and then you move camera to phone and it will work like nothing was wrong. So in my theory this problem is for power delivery and or its timing? I tested different (USB-OTG) USB-C adapters which had with different configurations so 'Sink' CC1 and/or CC2 5.1k pulldown or 'Source' configuration aka 56k pull-up.. like one of those idea has been used in this USB-C modification: but Samsung kept its silence if not preheated camera with charger.

USB-C PD?

New procedure: USB-C Trigger board! For advantage in these is usage of USB-C PD protocol so bits and not playing with resistors.

One big limiting factor on theseready solutions is chinese friends offering of voltages which were usually 9,12,15 or 20V but 5V missing which we need. One famous version of these is HW-398 which in theory without any resistors gives an 5V (check datasheet!) but i had got more mysterious version of these which used different IC and identification of IC had been grinded off. In the end i did find datasheet for this thanks to Youtube commentator which guested the IC name - CH224K. This supports configuration in two ways: "Resistance-" or "Level configuration mode", which first is ready applied on boards and later supports 5V if CFG1 is '1' and CFG2,3 '-/floating'. So 5 Volts can be choen with small jumper and small alternation on PCB.

Based on good test results, I set everything into the camera, but I was too quick and realized that if the camera and the USB-C Triggerboard are connected, the Triggerboard might stay in a loop. Now, it would be necessary to create a short delay, so the USB-C Triggerboard could start safely. However, I wasn't enthusiastic about completing the idea and instead ended up making the Triggerboard into a USB-C to USB Micro OTG adapter, which now also works with Samsung when connected to the phone.

Note: Hti-xintai is, in my opinion, a better application for this purpose than Seekin's own. Additionally, all the challenging *.apk files are included here, including the one that I have used myself. Hti-xintai.apk
